What is “minimum spend”?
A minimum spend is a dollar value that is required to be met by your function. Generally, this applies when you have requested an exclusive area in the restaurant. The minimum spend is the amount required for food and beverage before service charges, gratuity, AV hire and other miscellaneous charges for your function. Should that amount not be reached, the shortfall will be added to you final bill to make it up to the minimum amount.
Do you cater for 18th or 21st birthdays?
Unfortunately, no.
Do you allow Hen’s, Bucks or similar parties?
Unfortunately, no.
Can we have a DJ, or karaoke machine?
Generally, no. DJ’s may only play at exclusive functions, and must play through our speakers due to noise restrictions. Loud music cannot be played after 11pm on any night
What time does our function have to finish?
Lunch: You are required to vacate your table by 4pm. You may move into the bar/courtyard area, provided it is not already reserved.
Dinner: We have a license until 1am Monday to Saturday and 11pm on Sundays, Anzac Day and Good Friday. After these times, patrons cannot consume alcohol and the bar will be closed half an hour prior to the license time. Our courtyard is unlicensed from 10pm and no drinks are allowed out there from that time.
Can we move the furniture?
The furniture in the long room and lantern room cannot be moved. We are able to rearrange furniture in the Private Rooms, the Bar area and the Courtyard, and this generally incurs a fee, depending on the extent of work required.
Can we make speeches?
The restaurant is equipped with a wireless microphone, which can only be used if your function is the only one inside the venue at the time, or you have booked the entire venue. Speeches can be made without the microphone, as long as the other guests in the restaurant are not disturbed.
Can we have any AV equipment?
Yes, this can be arranged, as long as the screen does not obscure any of the artwork in the Lantern Room. We can arrange the hire of this equipment at competitive rates.
